Seeing New Possibilities with Pottery

In this segment of Breathing Space for the Oprah Winfrey Network, Oprah describes taking her first pottery class and makes the comparison between throwing pottery and embracing the present moment. The video is filmed at the Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago.

“The process has a hypnotic, soothing quality to it. Drawing us inward, opening our minds to new possibilities. Gradually, through gentle pressure and patience, the potter’s vision takes shape. When I tried throwing pottery for the first time I found myself completely engaged in the moment. Truly living in the now.”
