It is my passion and mission to ensure that every person who wants to meditate, knows how – with certainty! I promise if I can meditate, so can you.
What will you do to make meditation a regular part of your life?
It is normal to believe that finding an extra hour in your day is a colossal amount of time. However, if you believe there is value in meditation, you will find the time. It may take some discipline at first.
How will I find time in my schedule to meditate?
Get creative with your time. Take 5-minutes here and another 5-minutes there. Look forward to any amount of time you have to indulge in the silence of meditation.
When I began meditating, I noticed my natural tendency toward fear and anxiety lessening. I wanted more of that. I prioritized time in meditation and set a doable schedule for myself.
In my case, I was very quickly paid back the time I spent in meditation. I felt more rested, more confident and experienced greater mental clarity. I was doing more in less time. I could juggle more projects – more efficiently, more creatively, with fewer errors and a lot more joy. No more shiny object syndrome!
Now, my meditation practice is non-negotiable. It is absolutely essential to my health, well-being, creativity, joy and relationships. I want this for you.
Plus, did you catch the fact that meditation increases anti-aging hormones? Kulvinder mentioned that in her video. Meditation increases the length of your telomeres. By doing that you will look younger, feel younger and likely add add years to your life. It’s like cashing a meditation check 😉
How disciplined should I be about meditating regularly?
Do your best. In the beginning it’s good to be disciplined. However, never force yourself or anyone else to meditate.
Over time, you will look forward to meditation. It’s like drinking the most delicious glass of clean, clear, crisp water on a hot, exhausting day.
You may never want to return to BM (life before meditation).
How long before I see the results of meditation?
Meditation alters the physiology of the body immediately. Sometimes people notice the benefits quickly. For others, it may be weeks or months before they notice changes. It’s quite common that people around you may notice the benefits before you do.
If you meditate regularly, the benefits will grow at whatever speed and at whatever rate is easiest for your body to assimilate them. Everyone progresses at their own rate.
How can meditation help people around me?
As you bring the benefits of meditation into your own life, you may notice your relationships becoming more balanced and harmonious. The effects of meditation will expand to everyone and everything around you.
Can I meditate with other people?
Yes! When you meditate with others, you create positive energy around you that everyone shares. It has been reported that the effect of meditating with other people is greater than the sum of the individual parts.
If you enjoy meditating with other people, I definitely recommend it. It is also valuable in helping you establish and continue a regular meditation practice.
I’d love to meet you and meditate together. I teach regularly at the Chopra Center in Carlsbad, California. The Chopra Center offers twice daily free community meditations. Here is my calendar of classes and workshops.
Do I need a meditation teacher?
There are many benefits to having a meditation instructor who can teach meditation techniques, as well as support an ongoing spiritual practice. I am incredibly grateful for my continual studies with Roger Gabriel (Raghavanand), who guides my spiritual practice and brings so much peace and joy to my life.
What if I want to work with you, Julie?
Yes, I would adore that! Please email me and let me know how I can support you: julie@alittlemeditation.com
I work with individuals (in person and online) and teach workshops and events regularly in San Diego and Philadelphia.
If you would like a meditation instructor outside of the San Diego and Philadelphia area, I invite you to email me and I can put you in touch with a Chopra Center Certified meditation instructor in your area.
What should I do next?
Besides lighten up and have fun?! After all, the definition of enlightenment is to lighten up!
Have fun with your meditation. Be sweetly curious each time. And most importantly, always be easy and effortless. The less you do, the greater the benefits.
Over time the benefits will grow, just as your delight for the time you spend in meditation will.
Thank you for allowing me to guide you on this little meditation excursion. My heart is so happy that you are on this journey of light, love and health.
Imagine how different the world would be if each of us made space to notice our thoughts and be kind. – Julie Hunt
