Lesson 8: Create a Regular Practice

When should I meditate?

Think of bookending your day with meditation. Start your day with a morning meditation and then again in the late afternoon or evening.

To receive the full benefits of meditation, meditate for 30-minutes, twice daily.

It is best to meditate before eating or vigorous exercise, if possible.

What if I don’t have 30-minutes to meditate?

Do whatever you can. The moment you start meditating, the physiology of the body instantly changes. Try to commit to meditate twice a day, for whatever time you can.

I’m a huge believer in a twice daily, 2-minute meditation. Especially if you are just starting out and don’t have a set meditation schedule, yet.

Remember, a little meditation is always better than none.

You should sit in meditation for 30 minutes a day, unless you are too busy; then you should sit for an hour. – Old Zen saying
